FETF 2026 Opens in England

FETF 2026 Opens in England as Farm and Fleet Services Supports Farmers With Eligible Equipment

Funding window now open for productivity and animal health and welfare items

The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund 2026 is now open in England, giving farmers and agricultural contractors the chance to apply for support towards equipment that can improve productivity and animal health and welfare. According to GOV.UK, applications opened on 17 March 2026 and will remain open until midday on 12 May 2026.

The scheme, managed by the Rural Payments Agency, is part of the Farming Investment Fund. GOV.UK states that businesses based and registered in England may apply if they are farmers, horticulturalists, forestry owners or contractors carrying out services for those sectors.

Farm and Fleet Services said it is ready to help customers identify and source eligible equipment during the application period, with supply available across the full Ritchie and Chapman product ranges.

What the 2026 fund covers

According to GOV.UK, FETF 2026 includes grants across three themes: productivity, slurry, and animal health and welfare. For many livestock and mixed farming businesses, the productivity and animal health and welfare themes are likely to be especially relevant when planning equipment purchases this year.

The government guidance says applicants can submit one application per theme, and each application must have a value between £1,000 and £25,000. GOV.UK also makes clear that the scheme is competitive, meaning funding is not guaranteed. The success of an application depends on the score it achieves and the number and value of applications received by the Rural Payments Agency.

That means farmers should check the official item specifications carefully before buying and make sure any chosen equipment meets the published minimum requirements.

Farm and Fleet Services highlights supply and speed

Farm and Fleet Services is encouraging customers to plan early while the application window remains open. The company said it can help supply eligible equipment and support customers looking for practical options that match the fund’s requirements.

“We know farmers need clear advice, competitive prices and equipment they can get hold of quickly,” a Farm and Fleet Services spokesperson said. “We supply all Ritchie and Chapman products, and most equipment is either in stock or available for next-day delivery. We are encouraging customers to put us to the test on both price and availability.”

The company said fast access to equipment can be important for businesses trying to align purchasing decisions with the grant timetable and wider farm workloads.

Support for livestock and handling equipment

The 2026 fund includes items aimed at improving livestock handling, welfare and on-farm efficiency. GOV.UK has published separate item lists and specifications for each theme, including animal health and welfare and productivity equipment.

Farm and Fleet Services said its access to the full Ritchie and Chapman ranges puts it in a strong position to help customers source equipment suited to livestock enterprises and general farm use. The business added that it can work with customers to check availability and provide pricing quickly, helping them make informed decisions before the deadline.

While many applicants will be keen to move fast, the company stressed that customers should not assume a grant will be awarded. Instead, it is advising farmers and contractors to treat the process carefully, review the official guidance and make sure their application is accurate and complete.

Deadline approaching for 2026 applications

With the deadline set for midday on 12 May 2026, the window for applications is limited. GOV.UK says businesses can apply through the Farming Investment Fund service, and applicants should make sure they are applying under the correct theme and within the permitted funding range.

Farm and Fleet Services said demand often increases as deadlines approach, so early enquiries may help customers secure the equipment they need and avoid delays.

Farmers and contractors who are considering an application can contact Farm and Fleet Services for pricing, product availability and help sourcing eligible equipment. The company said customers should get in touch now and put the team to the test on price and availability while the FETF 2026 window remains open.
