McCormick Crawler Tractors X4T

X4T FAQ Section

Everything you need to know about the McCormick X4T, brought together to help you buy with complete confidence.

Engine & Performance

How much power does the X4T deliver?
The X4T delivers from 75 to 112 hp from its Deutz four-cylinder engine, with a 2.9-litre displacement. That gives you dependable strength for trimming, mulching and demanding work on challenging ground, with a power level to suit your operation precisely.

Is the X4T engine emissions compliant?
Yes. The X4T is fully Stage V compliant, so you enjoy clean, compliant performance without compromising on day-to-day usability. You can work with complete confidence, knowing the tractor is built to current standards.

What kind of work is the X4T best suited to?
The X4T is a crawler tractor designed for stability, handling and safety on difficult terrain and steep slopes. Its tracked design delivers outstanding traction and grip, making it the ideal partner for orchard rows and demanding mountain work alike.

Transmission

What transmission does the X4T use?
The X4T features the Speed Four transmission, a smooth and dependable setup designed for easy, intuitive operation. It keeps your work flowing comfortably whether you're moving slowly through the rows or tackling steeper ground.

Is the X4T easy to operate?
Wonderfully easy. The X4T is built with intuitive controls and a comfortable cab, so you can focus on the job in hand rather than the machine. That makes long days on demanding terrain both safer and more relaxed.

Tracks & Versions

What track options are available?
You can choose between steel and rubber tracks to suit your work and ground conditions. Steel tracks are semi-lubricated and range from 310 to 450 mm wide depending on the version, while rubber treads are 400 mm wide across both versions.

What is the difference between the TF and TM versions?
The TF version is the orchard model, built around a 1,100 mm track width for agile work between the rows. The TM version is the mountain model, with a wider 1,300 mm track width for extra stability on steep and uneven ground.

Which track type should I choose?
It depends on your terrain and the kind of work you do. Steel tracks offer rugged durability for demanding conditions, while rubber treads provide a smoother, more ground-friendly ride. If you'd like guidance, our team will gladly help you decide.

Stability, Handling & Safety

How does the X4T cope with steep slopes?
The X4T's crawler design delivers exceptional traction and stability, keeping it sure-footed on steep and uneven ground. This gives you the confidence to work safely on slopes where a wheeled tractor might struggle.

How does the tracked design help on difficult terrain?
Tracks spread the tractor's weight over a larger area, improving grip and reducing slippage on loose or soft ground. The result is excellent handling and dependable control, helping you work productively in the toughest conditions.

Applications

Is the X4T suitable for orchard work?
Absolutely. The TF version is purpose-built for orchards, with compact dimensions and a 1,100 mm track width that let it move with agility among the rows. It's a dependable partner for the precise, repetitive tasks that orchard work demands.

Can the X4T work in the mountains?
Yes. The TM version is designed specifically for mountain work, with a wider 1,300 mm track width that delivers extra stability and safety on steep terrain. Its dimensions and height make it ideally suited to demanding upland conditions.

Emissions & Maintenance

What emissions technology does the X4T use?
The X4T is fitted with a passively regenerating DPF particulate filter and a DOC oxidation catalyser as standard. Models with over 56 kW power output also feature an SCR selective emission reduction catalyser, paired with a 10.5-litre AdBlue tank.

Does the X4T need AdBlue?
Only on the higher-powered models. Tractors with over 56 kW output use the SCR system and a 10.5-litre AdBlue tank for clean, compliant running. Lower-powered models keep things even simpler, with no AdBlue required.
