Understanding Your Tyre Markings
Reading the sidewall is easier than it looks. Take a standard metric trailer tyre marked ST205/75R15:
- ST: Special Trailer application
- 205: The total width of the tyre from sidewall to sidewall, in millimetres
- 75: The aspect ratio — the sidewall height is 75% of the tyre's width
- R: Radial construction (a D or B indicates a bias-ply tyre)
- 15: The diameter of the wheel rim, in inches
